A simple question on Cameras.
Dear Lazyweb,
Having seen the advantages of using a digital camera for many, many years, I think it is about time I lashed out and bought one. However, I have no idea what is really a good camera for between $200 to $500. I want something with good support for linux, so i suspect this is most that use USB or firewire, however I am not really worried about what type of card slot it required (the laptop has all the common ones, if they work yet is another story :)
If you could write back with a suggestion that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Matt:
Thanks. I assumed they would be mass storage devices, so that's great they are.
Will have a look at those sites as well as the Fuji camera.
Thanks again

I've read good reviews, and had pretty good (but limited) experience with the Fuji Finepix F10. My parents and I picked one up for my sister a while ago at camerahouse for $449. It takes xD cards, which is a kinda crap proprietary standard (i.e. it's not SD or CF), but does the job and doesn't cost the earth (*cough*memory stick*cough*). Camerahouse threw in a 512MB xD card for $89.95.
Otherwise, most cameras by Canon are good.
Almost all cameras in that price range use USB show up under linux as usb-storage devices (just like a usb thumb drive).
Check out dpreview.com, and dslusers.com (which other sluggers seem to be members of) for reviews and discussion.
